Terms of use
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Chessmoose, a chess training site run by Elias Rockas in Finland. By using the site you agree to them. Contact: chessmoose1@gmail.com.
A free service
Chessmoose is free. There are no payments, subscriptions or hidden fees, so there is nothing to refund. If paid features are ever added, they will be clearly marked, priced up front, and come with their own terms and refund policy before you can buy anything.
Accounts
- An account is optional. You must be at least 13 years old to create one.
- Give a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Usernames must not be offensive or pretend to be someone else.
- You can delete your account at any time from your Profile. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
Fair use
- Use the site for your own chess study and play.
- Do not use the engine or analysis tools to get help during a game you are playing against someone else.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or copy the site's processed data, or try to overload or break the service.
- Do not impersonate other players or use names that are offensive.
Ratings and analysis
Puzzle ratings, bot strengths and engine evaluations are estimates for training. Bot ratings are approximate and are not FIDE, Chess.com or Lichess ratings. Engine analysis can be wrong, especially at low depth.
Content and ownership
The Chessmoose name, design, text and code belong to Chessmoose. Chess games and puzzles come from open sources and are credited on the licences page. Chess.com and Lichess are trademarks of their owners; Chessmoose is not affiliated with them or with FIDE.
No guarantee
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Finnish or EU law.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by Finnish law.
