What you get

Why it is free and unlimited

Many chess sites limit full game reviews on free plans, because running the engine on their servers costs money. Chessmoose runs Stockfish 19 directly in your browser using WebAssembly. Your own device does the work, so there is nothing to ration. Your games are not uploaded for analysis.

How to review a game, step by step

  1. Get the PGNOn Chess.com, open the finished game, choose Share and copy the PGN. On Lichess, open the game and copy the PGN from the Share and export tab. Games you play on Chessmoose are saved automatically.
  2. Paste itOpen the analysis board, choose Import game, paste the PGN and press Import to board.
  3. Run the reviewPress Review. Every move is checked with Stockfish 19. On devices with several cores, several engines work in parallel to speed it up.
  4. Go to the turning pointsClick the biggest drops on the evaluation graph first. Those two or three moments decide most games.
  5. Play the better moveTry the engine's suggestion on the board and play a few moves of the line yourself until the idea is clear.

Frequently asked questions

Is the game review really unlimited?
Yes. Stockfish 19 runs in your own browser, so there is no server cost per review and no daily limit.
Do I need an account?
No. Paste a PGN and press Review. An account only syncs your saved games between devices.
Can I review games from Chess.com or Lichess?
Yes. Download or copy the PGN from Chess.com or Lichess and paste it into the analysis board. Games you play against Chessmoose bots or online open in review with one click.
How is accuracy calculated?
Each move is compared with Stockfish. The drop in winning chances after your move is converted to a score per move, and the average over the game is your accuracy for both players.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The review runs in mobile browsers too, it just takes a little longer on slower phones.
